TEST MATCH SCOREBOARD

Terms of Use

Last updated 3 September 2026 · Test Match Scoreboard (testmatchscoreboard.com)

These terms are written in plain English on purpose. Using Test Match Scoreboard, with or without an account, means you accept them. If anything here is unclear, ask through the contact page before relying on it.

1. What the service is

Test Match Scoreboard is a web application for scoring cricket matches, particularly table-top and backyard games, and for showing a live scoreboard to spectators. It is provided by Encubed Solutions, a small independent developer in Australia, referred to below as "we" or "us".

The service is in beta. Features may change, be added, or be withdrawn while it matures, and there may be bugs. We will do our best to tell you about significant changes on the site.

2. Free use

Scoring standard formats, the live scoreboard, shareable match codes, and printable scorecards are free and do not require an account. Some features may be marked as part of the unlock described in section 5.

3. Accounts

An account is optional. It lets you keep match history across devices. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for activity under your account. Choose a password you do not use elsewhere; we reject passwords that appear in known data breaches. You must be able to receive email at the address you register, since we confirm accounts and reset passwords by email.

You can close your account at any time by asking through the contact page. We may suspend or close an account that is used to abuse the service or other people.

4. The content you enter

Team names, player names, and scoring belong to you. You give us permission to store and display them so the service can work, including showing them to anybody who has the match code. Please use first names or nicknames for players, especially children, and do not enter anything offensive, unlawful, or that you have no right to share.

A match code is a share link, not a password. Anybody who has the code can view that match's scoreboard and scorecard. Share it only with people you are happy to have watching.

5. The unlock

When available, the unlock switches on extra features for a fixed term shown at the time of purchase. It is a single payment, not a subscription. No recurring payment is set up, no card details are stored by us for future use, and no further amount is ever charged unless you start a new purchase yourself. When the term ends the extra features and ad removal stop, and your account, matches, and saved teams remain.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in Australian dollars. The unlock is a purchase, not a donation, and is not tax deductible.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If the unlock does not work as described, contact us and we will fix it, or refund you where the law requires. Because the unlock is a digital service that starts immediately, we do not otherwise offer refunds for change of mind.

6. Advertising

The free tier may show advertising on the scoring and setup pages. Ads are never shown on the live scoreboard or on printable scorecards. Ads are removed for accounts with an active unlock. See the privacy page for how advertising cookies are handled.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access other people's accounts or matches other than through a match code they have shared with you, interfere with the service or its security, scrape it at volume, or use it for anything unlawful. Commercial use of the software itself is governed by its licence, described in section 9.

8. Availability and liability

The service is provided as a spare-time project by a small independent developer. We aim to keep it running and to keep your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may need to take it offline for maintenance or, ultimately, to retire it. If we retire the service we will give reasonable notice on the site and, where you have an account, by email, and you will be able to request a copy of your data before it is deleted.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service, including a lost scorecard or an interrupted match. Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

9. Software licence and trademarks

The Test Match Scoreboard software is copyright Encubed Solutions and is licensed under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0, which permits noncommercial use, modification, and sharing. Running your own copy for commercial purposes requires separate permission.

Test Match Scoreboard is an independent, fan-made project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Crown and Andrews or any board game publisher. The name of the Test Match board game is used only to describe compatibility. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. The date at the top shows the current version. Significant changes will be noted on the site, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. If a dispute cannot be resolved by talking to us first, it will be dealt with in the Australian courts.

12. Contact
